Our journey began in 2018 as a tech start up focused mainly on IoT, machine learning and Data Analytics. In 2019 AION expanded in providing fleet tracking services across multiple industry’s and by 2020 AION has been able to capture not only SMEs but also Large-Scale Enterprises. Today AION is primarily focused on developing cost effective technology solutions integrating both hardware and software.

Chairman – Priyantha Perera
Mr. Perera is one of the founder members of Sierra Group of Companies and has been serving as Executive Director Since 1981.
He has led many enterprises in diverse fields to achieve great success. He is the Founder Director and current Chairman of the Sierra Cable PLC, the Executive Director of Sierra Constriction Limited one of the largest Construction Companies in Sri Lanka. He accounts for over 40 years of experience as a reputed entrepreneur.
Managing Director / CEO – A. Bandara Pilapitiya
Senior Telecom Executive with extensive international/multi-country experience in Building, Managing and Operating Large Scale Telecom Networks. 25+ years of experience in driving Technical Operations, Managed Network and Security Solutions and sales. Industry leader driving innovation and industrialization of automation/AI/ML into all aspects of Network Operations, Network Planning and Network Security. Extensive experience in Business Outsourcing, Offshoring, Industrialization, Sales, Business development and delivery. Experienced in driving Industrialization of hyper automation technologies governing Network Operations/Network and Data Security and Digital transformation.
Director – Technical – Daminda K. Senewirathne
Cybersecurity leader who was now leading the cyber team at one of the top 10 Australian companies. With over 20 years of experience in information technology, he has worked with global organizations across manufacturing, supply chain, construction and safety industries to help operate and implement mission-critical technology services. In the current role of his capacity, he is driving cybersecurity strategy, operation and risk management through innovation for five leading companies in Australia, China, New Zealand, Indonesia and the Pacific Islands.
Director – Marketing and Sales – C. Ranasinghe
With a Marketing career spanning over 24 years at Sierra, Mr. Chaminda Ranasinghe marks several milestones for Sierra Group, as the youngest Board Member, on the Board of Sierra Engineering & Construction Pvt Limited and its Subsidiaries, Sierra Industries Ltd, which is subsidiary of Sierra Cable PLC. As a Director-Business Development at Sierra Construction Limited, heads the business development in Infrastructure, IT and Trading in the company.
He is a graduate of University of Delhi and completed his MBA at PIM, University of Sri Jayawardenapura. Having completed a Diploma in Marketing, CIM, he is a Chartered Marketer recognized by CIM.

Vinod Sanjeewa, former Managing Director / Country Manager of Ericsson Sri Lanka has been a key figure in securing over $5 Billion in business contracts for the Ericsson. He is a thought leader, Influencer and innovative business leader for 5G, Automation, AI, IoT and Digital Economy. He is a global resource person for network deployment in Asia Pacific cluster, overseeing commercial models for 5G deployment in various countries. This transformation from legacy networks in mobile operators to the next generation has led to a positive impact on communities improving their livelihoods, at the same time increasing efficiency and reach for businesses, reducing overall digital divide in the region.
Vinod draws from a wealth of experience, having held numerous global management and leadership positions in Europe and Asia, for fostering ICT Innovation and reinforcing Sri Lanka’s ambition in becoming a pre-eminent ICT nation.
Head of Business Development – Sithira Dewasurendra
Currently heading the Business Development function for Aion Campus (Pvt) Ltd. and Gagana Engineering & Research (Pvt) Ltd., Sithira has experience in establishing Strategic partnerships for emerging business sectors for Sierra Construction Group. Sithira is a Business and Commerce Graduate Specializing in Marketing and International Business from Monash University (2015). He also has a Master’s degree in International Business from Monash University. Sithira was awarded the ‘Best Graduate Award’ for the most outstanding graduate in the Master of International Business course at Malaysia campus in 2017 by Monash University.
